I came to study Holistic Health at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition when I was just 15. I was young, and just beginning to learn about myself after having a rough up-bringing in Brooklyn, NY. The program opened me up to so many amazing concepts of how to approach life from a completely new lens. I started using food as medicine and became obsessed with experimenting in my kitchen, learning about what were completely new foods to me like, kale and quinoa. I also learned the value of looking to our own intuition when seeking guidance on how to approach our personal health. This potent time of growth also led me to start practicing yoga and mantra practice which offered a much needed sense of peace in contrast to the intensity of inner-city living.
I followed my intuition which brought me to Albuquerque, NM which has been my home for over 10 years. It is here that I continued by studies as the NM School of Natural Therapeutics and became a Natural Therapeutics Specialist and Massage Therapist. My passion for health continued to evolve, and in 2012, the same year my son was born, I began my 500Hr Teacher Training at High Desert Yoga. The Iyengar inspired approach to yoga that I learned from my teachers there have given me priceless tools for helping others. I consider my approach to teaching yoga a therapeutic one that is informed through many years of deep study and practice. I have been blessed to study with many senior teachers including Collette Crawford of the Seattle Holistic Center whom I have done my Prenatal Yoga trainings with.
As part of my own personal healing after the birth of my son, I also began to study The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage which really brought my work together and helped me approach bodywork in a most wholistic way. As my work continues to evolve, I am looking more and more to herbal and food based holistic approaches to health. My passion is to work with individuals one on one to really support them to make healthy choices to improve their physical and emotional wellbeing.
